A little bit about me...
I'm Lorraine Underwood and I have been teaching a combination of Pilates, PureStretch, Body Conditioning & Yoga
for the last 10 years.
​
After 24 years working for the NHS I decided to follow my passion and started
Bottoms Up Fitness.
​
I first qualified in exercise to music and went on to train in PureStretch, Pilates, Indoor Cycle, Aquafit,
Bounce, Circuits and in 2020 I successfully completed a 200 hour Yoga Certification in Mallorca.
​
Also in 2018 I invested in a Pilates Reformer and qualified as an instructor in London.
My love for the reformer started here and I was instantly hooked. I have been teaching
1:1 sessions for the last 5 years from a home studio and a Yoga studio in Plymouth.
​
As the reformer has gained momentum in the South West I have made the very exciting decision to
expand and open my very own Reformer Pilates Studio!

Classes

Throughout all of my classes I aspire for people to move, smile and have fun!
Adding laughter and a sense of humour to classes brings out the absolute best in people.

In Pilates I combine movement with lovely music and encourage controlled breathing,
improving core strength while maximising a sense of balance, control and harmony.
I also provide individual and Group Reformer Pilates sessions.
The Pilates reformer is an amazing piece of apparatus like no other,
which helps you to find length and space in the body while under spring tension.
Far from just a workout for your core, it helps to elongate the spine,
joints and muscles which leads to greater flexibility, strength, stamina and a more balanced posture.

In Yoga I practice Hatha and Vinyasa Flow.
​
Vinyasa Flow is a beautiful flow of classic yoga moves, creating heat, boosting circulation,
metabolism and a healthy posture, getting your heart pumping and sending oxygen out to your muscles,
giving you time to focus on yourself, your breathing, and improving your mind-body awareness.
​
Hatha Yoga is a more traditional form of yoga, expressing deep breathing, holding the poses for longer,
setting intentions, practicing without distraction to build stamina and control,
finishing the session with luxurious relaxation.

I strive to create a warm, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for everyone who wants to have a go
and try out one of my classes, regardless of previous experience and fitness levels.
